Hutch Delivered and Ready To Use!
On the weekend of March 28th, I brought the upper unit of the hutch to my mom's camp and put the pieces together. All it needs now is to be leveled (levelers are built into the base) and install the knobs on the two doors. Other than that, it's ready to use.
I like to make things. Making things out of wood, growing vegetables and fruit, writing software... I just like to make stuff.
I have been making things out of wood since seventh grade shop class. My dad loved woodworking, so I had access to a woodshop while growing up. I have a degree in wood products engineering from the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry (Syracuse NY). So far I have built two full kitchens from scratch, and numerous pieces of furniture. I tend to build pieces in a traditional style, although from time to time I build pieces in a rustic "Adirondack" style. I started selling some of my work here: http://cabinetworks.etsy.com
I've built a couple of kitchens, several large pieces of furniture, and small stuff too: cutting boards, desert trays, and wine racks.
A year ago I took a stained glass class, so I make these things too. I've yet to build a cabinet with stained glass doors, but I have built several decorations and some lanterns.
I also restore 1950s era metal lawn chairs. I've done close to three dozen of those, and a couple gliders.
"Too little time, too many projects".
